Tech Fee Funding Options
Each year a percentage of the total Tech Fee revenues are allocated to Academic Departments as well as targeted administration funds to benefit students and support academic instruction. These funding sources are then administered by localized Tech Fee Committees with 50% or more participation by GSU students which then review and vote on proposals presented for possible funding against these allocations.
When creating a proposal for Tech Fee funding you will be asked to identify the fund to which you are applying. See below for a description of the options available to you as a prospective awardee. Be sure to review the Tech Fee Guidelines for appropriate use which apply to all funding sources listed.

Academic Department Funding
Prospective awardees employed within an academic department will in most cases apply for funding from that department’s tech fee allocation. When applying for funding from your academic unit select the unit as listed below in the online Tech Fee proposal form.

The ISAT Committee created an Innovation Fund to be administered by the Center for Instructional Innovation. The Center for Instructional Innovation invites you to submit proposals to fund new and innovative instructional ideas that advance teaching and learning through technology at Georgia State University. When applying for funding from this fund select “Innovation Fund” as listed in the online Tech Fee proposal form.
The ISAT Committee administers a small allocation from Tech Fee Revenues which is intended for administrative units such as Student Services who may have proposals which meet Tech Fee guidelines. When applying for funding from this fund select “(ISAT) Administrative Groups” as listed in the online Tech Fee proposal form.
Information Systems and Technology
Information Systems and Technology receives an allocation of Tech Fee revenues which is used to develop and deploy technology services for the student body. Proponents Employed within IS&T should select “Information Systems and Technology” when applying for this funding in the online Tech Fee proposal form.
The ISAT Committee has allocated a portion of Tech Fee revenues for the continued funding and operation of student facing services such as student printing, software licensing and lab operations. These proposals are entered by IS&T representatives and should be identified using the “Institutional Mandates” funding source in the online Tech Fee proposal form.
